I learned photography out of necessity. I was hired to be an art teacher in a high school, and to get the job I said I was able to teach photography. Truthfully, it had been several years since I picked up a camera and 10 years since I had been in a darkroom. That necessity to know about photography turned into a passion. It took about a year and a half before I was comfortable “teaching” photography. Until that time I was just trying to stay one step ahead of my students. While looking through boxes in my classroom I discovered some studio strobes. At the time I had no idea what they were for, so I set out on a mission to figure them out. Researching about strobes and how they are used ignited an intense desire to shoot portrature and hunger to learn more.
